Thanksgiving grandma celebrates first vacation after her husband dies from COVID-19

Wanda DenchThe Arizona grandmother who accidentally invited a stranger to her Thanksgiving dinner in 2016 and became friends with him in the process, is celebrating her first vacation without her husband Lonnie Dench, Who died of coronavirus in April.
“He had the truest heart of love like no other,” Wanda told the local Arizona Family news agency Briana Whitney shortly after Lonnie’s death. “He’s done so many kind acts that no one has ever heard of. He was my hero. And I’m a better person because of him.”
Jamal HintonThe teenage girl at the time, who accidentally invited Wanda to Thanksgiving dinner when she wrote the wrong number – and then extended the holiday invitation anyway – shared the sad news on Twitter in April, writing, “Like some of you may have today Already figured out that evening Lonnie didn’t make it … he died on Sunday morning, but Wanda told me that all the love and support he received put a big smile on his face, so thank each and every one of you for this! “
That same month, Jamal also shared a video of him having lunch with Wanda, Lonnie and his girlfriend Mikaela Grubbsand wrote, “We miss you, Lonnie.”
Briana took up the story of Wanda and Jamal and announced that the two won’t get together for Thanksgiving this year as they have for the last four years, but still celebrated the festivities – and honored Lonnie.
