Ian McKellen says he feels “euphoric” after receiving the primary dose of coronavirus vaccine
Mr Ian McKellen received his first dose of the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine at Queen Mary University Hospital in London on Wednesday December 16.
“It’s a very special day, I feel euphoric,” said the 81-year-old actor. “I would recommend it to anyone without hesitation. I am very happy to have received the vaccine.”
The Lord of the Rings star was vaccinated on camera and spoke to ITV News about the experience, praising the UK’s National Health Service.
“Next time I come, well, six days after the next time, I’ll hug them all tightly. Is that allowed? I don’t know,” McKellen said. “That was one of the real benefits of all of this, wasn’t it? Seeing and seeing what works and what doesn’t in this country. And it seems to me that the NHS is high on the list of institutions that work.”
