via press release
Rockstar Games continues to advocate new underground music and culture with the latest Grand Theft Auto Online update, The Cayo Perico Heist.
Offering an exotic, completely new location, The Cayo Perico Heist assigns 1-4 players to plan and conduct an action-packed heist on the heavily fortified Caribbean island of Cayo Perico, where the infamous drug lord El Rubio and his entire company live the scene for the biggest update in the seven-year history of the title.
The Cayo Perico Heist also adds a brand new underground nightclub and social area called Music Locker, which features in-game performances and Detroit’s DJ sets Moody man, Berlin collective No music, and Palms Trax than the residents of the club.
The Music Locker is an exclusive underground dance club and social area located below the existing Diamond Casino & Resort. Players can take to the dance floor and spend the night alongside world-class DJs for the game’s newest immersive, true nightclub experience. The Music Locker offers players new opportunities to celebrate and socialize in-game in authentic club environments. It builds on ideas originally featured in the GTA Online: After Hours update that included a nightclub owned by players and appearances from The Blessed Madonna, Solomun. Dixon and Tale of Us as resident DJs and in-game characters.
In the first week, The Music Locker is opened by the Detroit legend Moodymann, who turns Motor City soul, techno and disco and is skillfully supported by its backup dancers. Later in the season, Berlin-based collective Keinemusik will take Clubber on a journey from the sounds of open air beach parties to the hottest nights in Europe, while Palms Trax prepares for old-school house, exotic sorts of disco and the latest by bringing the UK underground to his Music Locker residency later this month. The Music Locker also offers new game features, including the ability to dance with a partner, as well as new dance moves that allow all players to show off what they have on the dance floor.
Get ready for tons of more music news from GTA Online in the coming days, including new radio stations, new DJs, and additional music for existing stations on the Los Santos radio waves in the city’s biggest music update since launch!
As with all Grand Theft Auto Online updates, The Cayo Perico Heist is free with every copy of Grand Theft Auto V and will be available on December 15th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
