Because within a year she volunteered in a church. Her return to her roots as a Southern Baptist came at the urging of her mother after a “minor problem with tequila”.
In that New York chapel, on a night known as “Porn Sunday”, “ex-porn stars came in and talked about how their lives were changed by Church and God,” Graham told InStyle UK that it was her first time came face to face with Ervin, an evangelical with an MFA in social documentary and a charismatic spirit.
“I volunteered one Sunday in the elevator to greet people, hand out candy, and push the button to the eighth floor,” she wrote in her book, which was extracted from glamor. “When two tall men walked in, I didn’t sleep. One nudged the other and said, ‘If you don’t talk to her, I’ll do it.’ His friend got off the elevator, but he stuck with it. “
